But "everyone and their mother" is just an expression for--everyone! In actuality it was people my *own* age who grew up in America telling me how to act and what to do and say. So it definitely isn't an issue of culture clash. I think I said this rather explicitly in the post-- the problem is I don't like being told what to do and say *because* I'm the dulhan.
